Code lists
Code lists are where a space defines its own vocabulary. Three of them live here, and they are what the required user details in general settings actually draw from: switching on Požadovat po uživateli pracoviště is only useful once sites exist to choose from.
What code lists are good for
Section titled “What code lists are good for”A code list is a shared vocabulary. Without one, everybody writes the site their own way, once “Production 2”, once “production II”, once “hall 2”, and nobody can bring the three spellings together. When people pick from one list, the same thing has the same name on every person.
Where that helps:
- The structure in the space matches the real one. A company has three plants and several departments in each. You nest them in the site tree the way they stand in the organisation chart; each shows its lead and how many people sit in it. When you then require a site, people choose from these units.
- A new required detail needs its vocabulary first. You want to require a job title. Before you switch on Požadovat po uživateli pracovní pozici in general settings, you fill the Pracovní pozice tab; otherwise there is nothing to choose from.
- A check before an audit or a reorganisation. The switches above the tree show sites with no lead and sites with no users. In a moment you know where a responsible person is missing and which unit is empty, without walking the tree entry by entry.
More on the site tree and its filters below. What user labels are used for once assigned is not documented yet.
The screen
Section titled “The screen”
- (1) Three lists share the screen, each on its own tab: Pracoviště, Pracovní pozice and Štítky uživatelů.
- (2) Sites can be searched by code, name or lead, and two switches narrow the tree to the gaps — sites with no lead, and sites with no users.
- (3) Přidat pracoviště adds to the tree. The pane on the right stays empty until you pick a site.
Sites are a tree, the other two are lists
Section titled “Sites are a tree, the other two are lists”Sites nest. The panel is called Struktura pracovišť and each entry shows its lead and how many users sit in it, so a site is an organisational unit rather than an address.
The two filters exist because incomplete entries are the common problem: a site with no lead and a site with no users are both worth finding.
What to watch for
Section titled “What to watch for”In a personal space this route does not open at all — it redirects to the dashboard and the sidebar highlight jumps to Studium, so the click looks like it did nothing.
